本作改编自大崎梢的同名小说。以大型出版社千石社旗下的周刊杂志《周刊千石》为舞台。故事讲述入社第二年的信田日向子被调往自己最不想涉足的周刊编辑部，作为新人记者，面对娱乐八卦、贪污案、可疑死亡事件等各种独家新闻的经历与成长。
